Paul Hitchcock is an experienced and highly effective consultant, facilitator and coach.

He has been the Director of the Allied Health Professions Federation (AHPF) since 2009.

In the Director role he provides and has provided leadership on behalf of the AHPF with initiatives such as the Professional Standards Record Board, the development of NICE quality standards, the Leadership Academy Clinical Leadership Fellowships programme, the development of the Clinical Leadership Framework, the National Clinical Commissioning Community and the Future Forum component of the Health and Social Care Bill.

Paul is also on the National Inclusion Health Board where he chairs the working group on Leadership and Workforce development.

He is regularly asked to speak on the health and care environment and how it might be developed and influenced.

Paul provided the clinical engagement component of the 3millionlives initiative for the Department of Health. This included facilitation of technology based service redesign as well as top level clinical discussions and presentations.

Outside of the health and care sector Paul has expertise and experience in the automotive sector where he was involved with Ford as they were developing their Lean approach to quality and in the finance sector developing both leadership capability and internal relationships at Barclays.

In 2001 he was instrumental in developing the partnership approach to workforce relationships at the TUC Partnership Institute. He still provides consultancy support to partnership and staff engagement programmes.

He has global experience having had responsibility for worldwide top level executive development with Allied Domecq.

His original career was in the pharmaceutical industry following a degree in biochemistry.
